Educate and inform the whole mass of the people… They are the only sure reliance for the preservation of our liberty
Thomas Jefferson
AFREEAMERICA is committed to getting local and national information out to the public. Information is power, without it we cannot make good decisions. If our communities are going to remain vibrant, and our children prosperous then knowledge is the key.
Present day media is corporate owned and controlled, consolidated in the hands of a few. Smaller and smaller groups of individuals are dictating the information you get through their ownership of the media. They decide what we see and hear, what version of events is important
Competition among media outlets is an illusion. There is competition for dollars, not information, they all repeat the same script You can be assured that they will not venture from it.
We are a very small operation that relies on citizens and volunteers to provide local information that is vetted for accuracy and distributed on our site.
Many people have expressed disgust with the way our government operates, this is often expressed in terms of local/national politicians, the legal system, economics or education.
Our mission is to provide a different perspective on these issues, a perspective that goes beyond the official stories reported in today’s media. We warn you that you will be enlighten and moved by the information presented on this site.
Although it isn’t easy do not become discourage because we can bring about constructive change once we have the information to work with. We can take back our communities and return the power to the people, where it belongs.
Real change has always come from the bottom up, from the people. For this reason disinformation is extremely important to those in power. Because if the people ever become aware they would demand and receive real change.
"The spirit of resistance to government is so valuable on certain occasions, that I wish it to be always kept alive. It will often be exercised when wrong, but better so than not to be exercised at all. I like a little rebellion now and then. It is like a storm in the atmosphere." --Thomas Jefferson to Abigail Adams, 1787.
